Slayers and Rune Soldier are similar because they are comedies base in a fantasy world with magicians, warriors, priestesses and thieves. Rune Soldier was a easier series to watch and a lot more funnier then Slayers but there are a lot of good Slayer episodes and more of them then Rune Soldier.

Similar: *Medieval setting *Action/Adventure/Comedy *Color theme Both animes have Swords and Sorcery and the heroes are bound with a girl/woman. I think you will like them both, but Rune Soldier have less romance/ecchiness or not at all, and have older characters.

According to online sources, Mahou Senshi Louie is a sister series of Record of Lodoss War in that it takes place on a continent north of Lodoss Island. Now, setting and genre are that of the same fantastical plane. Lodoss = more intensity, more drama and it has more graphic violence and main character is more goal oriented (completed watching) Mahou Senshi = more comedy with same elements of fantasy, also has a bit of fan service--main character is a bit on the clueless side. all in all, still enjoyable to watch (currently watching)

similar setup and both have same level of enjoyment. Mahou Senshi Louie is much more enjoyable with respect to each episode.

This show has a lot of similar tendencies, and actually quite a lot of different ones, too. They both feature a squad of adventurers who are seeking power, wealth, notoriety. One male MC and three woman with unique powers. Comedy and "parody", are at the forefront of both shows, and that is their best asset. However, they are from different times. Konosuba is like a modern Rune Soldier with a lot more fan service. Konosuba will treat you to a slightly more serious story, too. Rune Soldier has a lot of Shonen moments that Konosuba does not share.

Ever felt like Lodoss is too much serious for a supposed Dungeons and Dragons anime? Rune Soldier is pretty much Lodoss with the true spirit of the tabletop game: with tons of humor and quirky sense of adventure

Fantasy, Comedy, Adventure. Both have a group of adventurers with a important male lead that is all muscle no brain. Those who hunt elves is a mix of Fantasy and our modern world like guns, tanks and *martial arts (male lead)*. Rune soldier is a fantasy only anime, but the main character use alot of hand to hand combat. I can't say more for now accept that they just feel very similar and if you like one there is a chance that you will enjoy the other.

if like one you'll sure enjoy another. Densetsu no Yuusha no Densetsu is darker than the rune soldier(Mahou Senshi Louie). Mahou Senshi Louie is more enjoyable than DnYD.

Lighthearted fantasy with a slapstick sense of humor and potty jokes. Even when the protagonists succeed, it's not necessarily the way they wanted, and any moment of awesomeness is undercut by laughable incompetence or goofy misunderstandings. Rune Soldier takes itself seriously at times, but Dragon Half is one big running joke, similar to Rune Soldier's more comedic episodes.

Action , Adventure and Comedy. They both have ruin exploring and contain Swords and Sorcery.

They both involve the same characters going on miscellaneous adventures, with some attempts at humour.

Louie and Company embark on fantastic journeys, much like Gokudo and his troupe. There's magic, sorcery, comic moments, and surprises around every corner. Both fit nicely into the action/adventure/fantasy genre.

Allthough in "Rune Soldier" there is nothing such as a epic story line, some very similar basic points can be pointed out e.g. the fantasy background, the medievil society and lost not least both stories wrap around a group of "heroes" with special abilities.

Both of these animes involve a group of individuals going on adventures. The characters are similiar and are capable of using swords and magic. They are both entertaining animes for just about anyone.
