Interest StacksEveryone knows Studio Ghibli's amazing work, but what about the other studios? Exhausted Studio Ghibli's filmography but want more? These anime have a visual presentation evocative of your favorite Ghibli films, but aren't made by Ghibli themselves. This is a list of non-Ghibli standalone movies - meaning they are not associated with a TV series Zima Entertainment is a Mexican distributor dedicated to distributing movies and series in theaters and home format, mainly only in their original language with subtitles. In this list you will find all the animes that they have distributed, both in home format and movie theaters. This is a list of anime with the sci-fi/fantasy theme of cosmic horror. It commonly features monstrous beings or great leviathans. It's sometimes complimented by biopunk, a sci-fi genre about the use of biotechnology. Romance standalone movies that have clean and crisp animation. While some series do have other related entries, it’s possible to watch this without any prior knowledge which is why I included them in this stack. I hope you enjoy! The criteria this time is no criteria. This is the final list in my Obscurities series. If there is any criteria, it's that I think you should watch these despite their quality, popularity, or even my rating, because you should see 'em. There's some good, some bad, and some real head-scratchers in here. It's mixed bag time in here! EN: Anime that aired on Polish television programming block Hyper (later Hyper+) I'd only say there are a couple here where it is a spoiler to know, so they will be at the end of the list. Let me know if you think I should change the stack to have a spoiler warning. But I don't think it's necessary. Anime that focuses on the importance of the natural world on its own terms and/or the ramifications of negligent human interactions with the world. Created to help with challenges Spiritual & Ethereal anime, anime that are Metaphysical or Existential or Philosophical journeys, or an Ontological Odyssey, or Transcendentals, Epistemological Enigmas, or Metaphoricals, or Existentialist Experiments or Cosmic Contemplations. This stack will feature anime with broad ecological and environmentalist themes. Great Animation style + Great Background Music + Great Story Line + Great Character For a good shot of adrenaline to the retinas Some of these are questionable, like Suisei no Gargantia can be argued to be fully sci-fi, but there is a feel to it that makes me include it, along with organic and archaic elements that are woven together in a way that makes this appear more fantastical than your average sci-fi. Similarly, Gankutsuou is sci-fi with advanced technology, but it's futuristic imagery is conceptualized to cohere with the elegant 19th century setting of Dumas' novel. I'm also avoiding the inclusion of more than one entry per series, so if season 1 is on here, then season 2 likely fits just as much. This list contains all those anime that have been dubbed into Latin Spanish from each available decade. |
