New Interest Stack
Interest Stacks![]() ![]() This list is dedicated to Pre-2000s anime that has a visually impactful animation, regardless of the year they release. ![]() ![]() Art house, in relation to cinema, is a genre of films that are intended to be serious artistic works rather than merely popular entertainment but the descriptor can also be applied to anime. Furthermore, avant-garde refers to innovative, experimental, radical or unorthodox concepts and techniques. This can of course also be used in reference to anime and manga. ![]() ![]() Decided to make a stack for the OVAs and movies you used to be able to find on Blockbuster shelves or on late-night TV anime blocks right before infomercials or softcore porn. Behold, hyper-violence, bad animation, paranoid politics, incomprehensible writing, awful dubs, gratuitous nudity, and that special something that makes bad things great sometimes. ![]() ![]() Some anime OVAs dating back to this time, with not many movies included. ![]() ![]() Get ready for Halloween with 30 nights worth of horror OVAs and movies that are guaranteed to deliver you spooks and scares. ![]() ![]() This is a list of non-Ghibli standalone movies - meaning they are not associated with a TV series ![]() ![]() I remember going to the video store, browsing the shelves, and picking out a movie based on the box art alone. I'd look at the front, I'd look at the back, and more often than not I'd put it back on the shelf. Occasionally there'd be something like Ghost in the Shell or Ninja Scroll, and I knew I just had to rent it, or more accurately get my parents to rent it. ![]() ![]() Do you like watching trashy 80/90s OVAs and movies that are violent, stupid, and nonsensical? Well this list is for you. Some of these are pretty famous in the community like Violence Jack and M.D. Geist, but I made sure to really dumpster dive for some obscure trash for all of you garbage connoisseurs out there. ![]() ![]() Organized by the Japan Anime Festival Executive Committee, their members being the editors-in-chief of five major anime magazines, which were Animedia, The Anime, My Anime, Monthly OUT, and Animeck (Animage did not participate, as they had own Anime Awards). The main choices were decided by industry insiders and artistic creators (people like Osamu Tezuka), with the Fan Awards being self-explanatory. ![]() ![]() A selection of shows that centralizes on the idea of evil, whether as a direct presence or a symbolic representation, that revels in themes of hostility, corruption, debauchery and death that ultimately, cause the grievous and tragic collapse of one's sense of humanity. Due to its dark nature, this list is unfiltered and therefore, may display lurid elements that are problematic. But if you're here to seek the thrills of violence and the spills of blood, then witness the dance of the Devil. |
