Both focus on a main character having to go through day to day life with their recently acquired cute female robot friend with long light blue hair, while realizing that said friend will soon expire. Both have a heavy focus on "feels".

Both deal with female protagonists consigned to a tragic ending. The parallel between the final arc of AIR and the story of Kowarekake no Orgel is fairly direct, with the only major difference being that AIR deals with a child-parent relationship whereas Kowarekake involved a sibling-type bond.

Both titles cycle between light-hearted slice-of-life moments and saddening and/or tragic drama (specifically melodrama more often than not). Despite being only 30 minutes long the story of Kowarekake no Orgel resembles an arc of Clannad in terms of progression and structure.

Both feature a silver-white haired female companions who show love or affection for a male character. Difference is one is an outdated android and the other is a resurrected being. Both pack emotions and feels down your throat

As in chobits the main character finds an android and takes her in. He shows her the little pleasures and at the same time she helps him get back the passion to play. Both very sweet stories, which are in a way similar.
