New Interest Stack
Interest Stacks![]() ![]() If there's any person who defined the archetypal 80s anime character art style, Akemi Takada would be a strong contender. Debuting in the industry as a guest character designer for Ippatsu Kanta-kun, Takada would be assigned as the main character designer only a year later for the sequel of Science Ninja Team Gatchaman, a show she was a fan of during her university years. After four years of working for Tatsunoko, Takada went freelance and truly hit her stride with her involvement in the adaptation of Urusei Yatsura, adapting Rumiko Takahashi's art style to an anime format (she was responsible for turning Lum's rainbow-colored hair into the trademark teal it is known today). Takada would later work on another Takahashi adaptation, taking after Yuuji Moriyama stepped down from the character designer role in Episode 28 of Maison Ikkoku. ![]() ![]() Anime series produced before 2000s with a fair amount of scenes depicting Japanese cities in the '80s or'90s providing a remarkable nostalgic feeling, both cities centre or especially suburbs and residential areas. ![]() ![]() Kansai-ben, Touhoku-ben, Hokkaido-ben, ... Japan is rich with their dialects, accents and expressions. I find certain charms to these and will try to maintain this stack adding animes involving some of these dialects. ![]() ![]() Anime aired in Spain's TV channels (public or private), listed with the Spanish title. Might be missing some or be messy: I wanted to add the most important but also the less obvious. Excluding most sequels & movies. ![]() ![]() Overflowing with situational comedy, the everyday school life of the most ordinary teenagers, a large number of side characters with various funny gimmicks that create a kind of elusion of the reality of this quirky world. The fun soundtrack, the urban setting, and the vibes of old teen shows from my childhood are one of the most valuable things I love about anime. I've always been particularly fond of big-cast shows like this because of the nostalgic high school atmosphere and sitcom style of humor they provided, so I wanted to create a separate list for that. ![]() ![]() It can be an anime about cats or just feature one cat. Also: not exactly a house cat but any kind of feline. ![]() ![]() [Spoiler Alert for only the original Space Battleship Yamato] ![]() ![]() I created this interest stack to show you some of the gems that are hidden here, it's not always easy to find these animes or get a recommendation to watch some of them, I hope you like them as much as I do, thank you for those who read this far and good anime. ![]() ![]() Anime series that covers all of the original source they're based on, with some notes. |
