Kidou Senshi Gundam AGE

Nichigo (日5), a shortened name for the 5 p.m. time slot on Sundays, is Mainichi Broadcasting System (MBS) and its sister network Tokyo Broadcasting System (TBS)'s anime programming block. Nichigo was first launched in April 2008 to replace the Doroku (土6) anime programming block, which aired at 6 p.m. on Saturdays from 1992 to 2008.

Beginning in April 2017, Nichigo was combined with the 7 a.m. Saturday anime programming block into a new early Saturday morning segment named Anisata (short for Anime Saturday).

The programming block has been revived in April 2022, with Mobile Suit Gundam Suit: The Witch from Mercury as the first anime to air originally on the block in October 2022.

Now, let's be real - as a franchise, Gundam is being perceived as this mess of close looking, but slightly different shows, and when you actually that they don't have direct continuity, being in separate timelines and all this, there's a high chance for the person to "NOPE" out of the topic.

But still, from person who has seen alot of what the Gundam franchise has to offer, it's safe to say not all timelines of this monster of a franchise are worth it, in fact, some of them are so thematically different, they're whole separate genres. So I'll try my best here to explain which show may be to whom's liking, since unlike the "main timeline" of the Universal Century, the alternative ones can be totally enjoyed as a separate things of their own. I do also believe that enjoying these timelines might pique your interest towards the main one as well, since more or less the themes of the Gundam shows does feel pretty close, despite the different timelines.

Real robots are a subgenre of the mecha genre, in which the mechas are depicted as realistic warmachines as opposed to the superheroistic depiction of the super robot subgenre. It was started in 1979 by Mobile Suit Gundam.

Getting started with Gundam can be tough because of the multiple timelines and the varying amount of time a viewer must invest to watch the show(s) depending on which timeline they choose to go with. Things are not as simple as picking which one is best; some fans will argue that a certain series is the greatest Gundam show, while other fans will argue for that same show being the worst of the franchise. Knowing how the shows interact with each other is the first step to figuring out what you want to watch, and this stack will help to guide you through that process.

Right now I can't make a part 2 because of the 5 item minimum to create a list, but the rest are Time Bokan: Gyakushuu no San Akunin, Megaton-kyuu Musashi Pilot, Megaton-kyuu Musashi, and Megaton-kyuu Musashi 2nd Season.

The original Mobile Suit Gundam was settled in a Continuity known as the Universal Century (UC), but in the 90's Sunrise decided to bring born to the Alternate Continuities into the franchise so they could make new Gundam animes withou being limited by what came before.

This offers new watchers the opportunity to meet the essence of Gundam without having to go through the long (and sometimes tedious) Universal Century.

Anime featuring mainly traditionally animated, hand drawn robots made between the year 2010 and now. As by this point in time, they had become a rarity in favor of CGI robots, I think this list would be really helpful.

Note: the Gundam Build shows get excluded because those are plastic models, not robots.

Personally I think Gundam is pinnacle of mecha anime but since a big chunk of the series
is interconnected, I only included gundam series which are watchable as a standalone
