'Yuri!!! on Ice' Adds Supporting Cast Members

The official website for studio MAPPA's upcoming sports anime, Yuri!!! on Ice, has announced the supporting cast members and their respective character designs. In addition, the website revealed a new promotional video.

Otabek Altin: Yoshimasa Hosoya (Bungou Stray Dogs)

Xi Guanhong: Yuutaro Honjou (Eureka Seven AO)

Christophe Giacometti: Hiroki Yasumoto (Hoozuki no Reitetsu)

Jean Jack Leroy: Mamoru Miyano (Uta no☆Prince-sama♪ Maji Love 1000%)

Phichit Chulanont: Kensho Ono (ReLIFE)

Michele Crispino: Tomoaki Maeno (Akatsuki no Yona)

If the title will exclusively show Men's Single competition, it will look like a "cute men deal cute things"

I cannot grasp the idea people seem to have about how sports' anime (or any series where the cast mainly consists of the male gender) are homoerotic. Similar to Free! or Kuroko no Basket, this will likely support nil romantic interactions between the characters. If we would go by this sentiment, every singular group of men friendly with one another must be homosexual — which is of course untrue. I have yet to see the homoerotic side of this which people press on at all times.

Either way, this will be one of the anime I will be watching for next season. I adore the character design, and I adore figure-skating.
